Alt- rockers Paerish are back with a bold new track ‘Wait For Dark’. Hailing from Paris, the band have been making a real buzz for themselves in the rock-alt/rock-emo scenes. Having toured with Movements and shared stages with Sum 41 and Alkaline Trio they are flying the flag high for France and really are deserving of the label ‘one’s to watch’.
It’s their first new track since 2023 and if it’s a sign of things to come from the new album, then I’m proud to say I am all in! It was recorded with the award winning Will Yip in Philly- who has produced for the likes of Panic At The Disco, Movements, Turnstile – there is no need to second guess the quality of this anticipated album.
“Sometimes in life and at work, you come across people who make it quite clear that they don’t like you, which isn’t a problem in itself, but occasionally, those people will go out of their way to harm you or prevent you from living your life normally,” – Mathias Court
Wait for Dark is rhythm heavy and steeped in both outrange and passion. It’s filled with grit and raw emotion from the vocal effect to the drive of the drums and bass line to the perfectly placed guitar solo.
This track sounds mega, to me there is a pop-punk undertones, meaning it wouldn’t have sounded out of place as a soundtrack on the likes of Tony Hawk’s skating games with influences like Jimmy Eat World, Weezer and Nirvana emerging throughout the song.
There must be something in the water (or wine) in Paris because they most certainly have some really awesome bands with some cool things happening there. I sadly missed Paerish when they were in the UK in May but I can’t wait to check them out live and hope Wait For Dark is in the set list!
Paerish are: Mathias Court (guitar/vocals), Frédéric Wah (guitar), Martin Dupraz (bass), and Loïc Fouquet (drums)
Don’t skip out on this track, get it added to your playlist and enjoy it in all it’s glory – at a really loud volume!
