Skylights, York/Leeds independent brit-pop indie rockers released a cracker of a track Fever deserving of a space on your playlists this Summer.
On first listen I heard Primal Scream, on second listen I heard Oasis, with hints of The Stone Roses and The Verve thrown in for good measure – it’s clear to hear where these English rockers get their influences from as a band. With music steeped in British indie-rock culture, Skylights bring their own identity into the mix and Fever is a momentous comeback following a bit of a hiatus from the guys.
The chorus is infectious, it’s almost anthemic and I can only imagine that this will land well in a live set from the band. Fever was the song that introduced me to Skylights (a late fan, sorry!) and I’ll be sure to be paying more attention to what the guys get up to next.
Fans were hungry for this and the song gained great traction and I saw their socials blow up, for an independent band funding the dream themselves (and having fun doing it) it’s what we all want to see and should truly get behind and support! Fever rightfully so has grabbed the attention of BBC Introducing and Radio X – these guys are back and here with purpose and show no signs of slowing down with another new track just released.
