I am thrilled to announce that Bonnie Scotland Presents will be running the first Sunday Showcase afternoon session in Clarks, Dundee on 3rd of August and I have four incredibly talented musicians ready to entertain you.
Meet the artists:
Edenbank
Since forming in early 2023, Dundee-based duo Edenbank have created a sound which suggests they have been making music together forever. Ashley and John bring beauty, intimacy and a quirky class to their acoustic sound which is firmly rooted in raw, honest and heartfelt songwriting. They have gained attention as a musical force not to be missed.
James Liandu
James Liandu is a musical artist hailing from Dundee, Scotland, who puts a completely different spin on the term “singer/songwriter”. He is all about making music that you can really feel.
He has a collection of songs which showcase the different sides to him musically, showing that he won’t box himself in any specific genre, rather create something of his own nature.
Becky Kidd
Becky Kidd began singing outside the four walls of her room at around 17 when she started busking to earn some extra cash. Around the same time she began experimenting with songwriting. Her music is about storytelling and capturing feelings people can relate to. The good, the bad, and the sometimes comical. She is inspired by a mix of genres from blues and folk, to indie and pop, and borrows elements of each in her own music.
Mike McKenzie
After winning the BBC Radio Scotland ‘Singer Songwriter of the Year’ award in 2019 with his original song ‘Love
Like This’, Mike McKenzie followed the advice of Fran Healy who told him not to rush into releasing an album too quickly.
Mike spent time writing, recording and independently releasing music with huge support from BBC Scotland,
independent radio across the UK and Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2 who described his songwriting as “Gorgeous”.
