Hospital Radio– L.A
Vibe: Emotionally charge that emo heart
From the band: The idea for L.A. came to me during a bout of anxiety whilst watching reality TV set in L.A.. I wrote it as a kind of an ode to wanting to be away from your anxieties.
Bonnie says: When the vocals in the chorus hits (chefs kiss). This track demands your attention in such ways that Hot Mulligan do – the strong vocals, the catchy guitar hooks that get stuck in your head and lyrics that resonate with listeners. L.A demands your attention and leaves you wanting more.

Rare breed– You are going to miss it all
Vibe: Heavy guitar head bop
From the band: To us, the name “Self Dependent//Self Destructive” represents the contrast between being expected to have your life, dreams and goals together while also being brought down by inexperience and vices, a contrast that has defined our late teens and early 20s so far.
Bonnie says: Taken from their latest EP Self/Dependent//Self Destructive, You are going to miss it all is heavy, with purpose. The intro hits you square in the face, the deliberate panning left and right in recording of the guitar tracks was siiick! The guitar solo was unexpected – some amount of talent going on there. This track took me back to my teenage years as it has a nostalgic nod to Bullet for My Valentine!

Indigo – Ghost of you
Vibe: Haunting, angry cry in the car
From the band: “Ghost Of You is a hard-hitting, emotional alt-metal track about watching someone you love lose themselves to trauma
Bonnie says: Geordie metal band Indigo have released a cracker here. The band lean in to that emotionally rich vocal that is gut wrenching, you can feel the rawness in Brett’s vocal. Joe’s guitar tone has a sweetness about it, in a track about trauma it was unexpected yet wonderful.

Junior VP – Easy come, easy go
Vibe: Volume up and dance like no-one is watching
From the band: They take catchy pop hooks and mix them with big guitar sounds, fun arrangements and a few secret ingredients. The result is something honest, fresh but familiar and most likely your next earworm.
Bonnie says: Junior VP’s Easy Come, Easy go is a fun listen that will have you dancing instantly. the chorus is catchy and I can tell that this would be a firm crowd pleaser in a live set. Hard to believe this is a debut single – they have set the bar high and I am convinced they will continue to raise it.

Gather The Lost – Delussional
Vibe: Eery
From the band:: ‘Delusional’ is the brutally honest anthem for anyone who has been reshaped by trauma yet chooses to fight for a beautiful future. This track dives into the vulnerable truth of recovery – the messy, non-linear work of untangling years of pain and acknowledging the flaws that stem from those experiences.
Bonnie says: Their is something super unique about Carolyn’s lead vocal, it captivates you, draws you in. Alan’s guitar parts are intricate, classic and I could almost hear the heavy blues/classic rock influences in his solo. The bass and drums are locked in and carry the track well – The outro was sweet. Looking forward to seeing what comes next.
Fresh finds…

Liam Cromby– Whole Damn Life
Vibe: Reflective,
Bonnie says: Whole Damn Life is raw, beautiful and provides hope. Having heard this track live, there were tears shed. Liam is a clever songwriter who can capture his own story and still resonate with so many. Whole Damn Life offers hope to those who may feel hopeless – it gives permission for self discovery to be a journey not a destination. Many of the OG We Are The Ocean fans are right behind him in this new chapter but with stunning tracks like this, it will appear to so many new audiences.

Wrest– Reset Switch Off
Vibe: Calm the chaos
Bonnie says: Wrest pull it out the bag again. Stewart’s vocal on this is what makes the track for me. When he sings, the imagery flows out, as does the emotion. Wrest, in my opinion, never miss. Their tone, their lyrics, just melts me.

The Upsides – Jump in
Vibe: Summer festival favourite
Bonnie says: Good luck staying still when The Upsides are on. The indie-rock New Yorkers are fun, talented and are pro at writing catchy hooks that make you want to dance and sing. Tunes up, forget your troubles and sing your heart out. I’m very glad these guys landed in my Spotify playlists.

Bad Flower–Ghost
Vibe: Hard hitting
Bonnie says: Why am I only finding out about these guys? The drum patterns in this track is insane, absolutely makes the song for me. If you like emotionally charged soaring vocals, bass and drums you can feel deep in your soul then this track is for you. This track was a cool intro to the band, their latest album “No Place Like Home” is worth the listen. Ghost is an ear-worm in the best possible way, it’s emo AF, it woke up my black heart.

Rush Hour Soul – Chemistry
Vibe: Happy Go Lucky moment
Bonnie says: Rush Hour Soul are back baby! When I saw the band were back together and releasing music again I was really excited. They were a staple (and huge support) of the Dundee music scene for many years. Chemistry is an up-beat track that will instantly lift your mood. Guest vocals by Nicolle give this track and extra sprinkle of special. It’s a head bop, a sing-a-long live song. The outro gives good space for the band to showcase what they are about musically.
