The Battery Farm
The Battery Farm are the soundtrack of the end of the world. Evil and menacing, with post-apocalyptic themes, they know nothing will ever be ok – but they make remarkable music about it nonetheless.
Their sound is powerful and aggressive, yet outstandingly harmonious and melodic. It’s as if IDLES and Modest Mouse got together in a dark alley somewhere for a friendly little bare-knuckle fight – in the best way possible.
Their expressive energy and brutal force kicked the absolute hell out of everyone at Manchester’s Eagle Inn on Friday night. It was also their first show with new bassist Nick, and
to say that he smashed it out of the park would be a massive understatement!

Panhead Sharps:
Friday the 6th of February 2026 was an unforgettable night for Panhead Sharps as they played their very first gig outside of Scotland as a full band. The show took place at the iconic Eagle Inn, which has stood in the heart of Manchester since 1902, and ‘The Sherps’ shared the stage with two other fantastic bands: The Battery Farm and Big Cat Chic.
Unfamiliar with the Dunfermline trio, the crowd was a bit quiet at first, but John, Michael and Neil’s energy, friendliness and Scottish banter soon got everyone moving and cheering loudly after every song.
As always, the boys sounded spot on. They were loud, dynamic, and even jumped into the crowd a couple of times – a real, old-school rock gig in one of the greatest cities in the world. What more could you ask for?

Big Cat Chic:
According to their description on Spotify, Big Cat Chic are “a queer, grunge, shoegaze outfit from Manchester merging sexy riffs and serious grooves,” and live, they deliver all that and more. Their show at Eagle Inn, supporting The Battery Farm, was confident, strong, and aggressive, but they balanced it with great melodies and friendly chats between songs.
Their songs feature heavily distorted guitars, pained shouts and moans, and daring lyrics. Big Cat Chic aren’t afraid to push the boundaries of sound, which makes them a truly one-of-a-kind emerging band that’s vibrant, bold, and ready to take what’s theirs.
