Manchester lads Muddy Elephant are back with a super catchy indie banger that deserves a spot on your playlists this summer.
Muddy Elephant are making waves across the indie scene having had incredible support opportunities with Busted, The Darkness and The Hunna as well as some packed-out shows in some of the UK’s most iconic music venues.
I first heard of Muddy Elephant when their single Yellow Phone came out last year and appeared on my Spotify discover weekly playlist – I was hooked. Their dance worthy guitar hooks and big sing-a-long choruses give me the instant buzz to jump in the car for a road trip with good mates. They make tunes that make me want to move, increasing the urge to grab tickets to a live show and dance amongst the crowd.
Picture of you explores the complexity of online dating apps and the difficulties faced trying to build a connection with someone online. The song will resonate with my fellow single friends trying to navigate the new age of dating, the longing for something authentic that doesn’t leave you questioning where you stand.
“Long nights, no sleeping, I just needed something to believe in”
The track opens with a cool indie disco drum beat and a bass line that demands your attention. The whole track provides enough dynamically to take you on their journey of the real rollercoaster journey of life, love and dating apps.
Indie as a genre is on the rise across the UK, I can’t wait for the bands to dominate the charts like they used to, let’s all take a moment to reminice about the good times of 2006-2010. Muddy Elephant would be deserving to be up there. Picture of You is a strong follow up to Yellow Phone. I can’t wait to hear more indie bangers like this from Muddy Elephant and considering their list of shows and support slots so far I guarantee they are one’s to keep an eye on.
