Lancashire based alt- rockers Lythium are kicking off 2025 with a bang as they drop their latest single – Trigger.
Drawing on the raw energy of noughties rock icons like Queens of the Stone Age and Foo Fighters, Lythium craft original rock tracks packed with powerful melodies and commanding vocals. Their mission? To channel the same electrifying energy you’d experience at one of their live shows into their recorded musi and “Trigger” does just that.
The track opens with strikingly choppy guitars paired with a bass groove that feels grounded yet dynamic. This sets the stage for Lythium’s signature blend of styles, fueled by the diverse influences each band member brings to the table. “Trigger” showcases their ability to fuse these influences seamlessly.
What sets “Trigger” apart is its unpredictable structure. From surprising drum breaks to an eerily atmospheric guitar melody accompanied by haunting vocals, it’s a track full of twists that caught me off guard. At one point, I even rewound to check I was still listening to the same song! The outro hits hard, picking up momentum with a fiery double-time drum beat and frenetic vocals bringing a different energy to the end of the track.
The chorus is irresistibly catchy, and I could already imagine a crowd belting it out in unison during a live performance. It’s one of those songs that begs to be experienced live, amplifying its impact tenfold.
“Trigger” perfectly balances old-school rock riffs with Lythium’s contemporary edge—a recurring theme in their previous releases. It’s a track that demands repeated listens, revealing intricate layers and subtle details with each play. Trust me, this one deserves a spot on your repeat playlist.
